Pamela Chng
Chairperson
Pamela has over 20 years of start-up and business experience, and is the co-founder of The Bettr Group, a for-profit social business and vertically integrated specialty coffee company in Singapore that aims to change lives through coffee. Bettr empowers lives through holistic vocational programmes for marginalised women and youth, nurtures direct and sustainable trade across their supply chain, and encourages socially and environmentally conscious consumption.
Prior to founding Bettr, Pamela co-founded, ran and grew a successful web consultancy, Digital Boomerang. She was also part of the pioneer team in the web division of Singapore Press Holdings as Head of International Online Advertising Sales and Business Development.
Pamela is the first Singaporean on the Board of Directors of the global Specialty Coffee Association and a World Barista Championship Certified Sensory Judge, World Coffee in Good Spirits Sensory Judge, Licensed Q Arabica Grader.
She is also a Six Seconds Certified EQ Assessor and started Bettr Lives to attempt to address one of our greatest collective challenges in the 21st century – the mental and emotional health of people.

Amanda Tham
Treasurer
Amanda returned to Singapore in 2017 after spending most of her career in the US, where she built her global leadership and finance career.
Amanda held various senior finance leadership positions, including Group CFO of the Asia unit of Hiscox Ltd, a top global specialty insurer; Managing Director of Business Development for State Street Bank, one of the largest global Custodian and Asset management firms, and CFO of General Electric, Oil and Gas Global Sensor and Inspection Technology business unit.
Amanda graduated with a BSc in Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Western Ontario in Canada and has an MBA from TRIUM, a joint Executive MBA program from NYU Stern, London School of Economics, and HEC Paris.
Amanda is an advocate of financial inclusion and dedicates her business and finance experience to helping NGOs and B corporations grow sustainably and accomplish their mission in financial inclusion.
She started her collaboration journey with Bettr in 2020. She helped create a financial literacy program as part of the core training in Bettr's mission on instilling sustainable employment and life skills of their beneficiaries.

Kathy Lai
Kathy Lai is retired from her role as Deputy Chief Executive at Enterprise Singapore, in charge of Global Markets, a role she held from 1 April 2018 to 31 Mar 2021. She is currently retained as a Fellow to coach and mentor the leadership team.
Kathy served as Deputy Chief Executive Officer of International Enterprise Singapore from 1 November 2016 to 31 December 2017, and Acting CEO from 1 January to 31 March 2018.
Prior to that Kathy was the Chief Executive Officer of the National Arts Council (NAC) from 1 November 2013 to 31 October 2016, where she spearheaded the development of the arts in Singapore by cultivating excellence among Singapore’s arts community, developing the supporting ecosystem and nurturing the growing audience in Singapore.
Kathy sits on the Governing Boards of the National University of Singapore’s Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music (YSTCM), the Nanyang Technological University Centre for Contemporary Art (NTU CCA) and serves as a Board Director of Crimsonlogic Pte Ltd and TheatreWorks (Singapore) Limited.
In addition, she mentors young entrepreneurs and advise them on the growth strategies of their enterprises.

Calvin Chu
Calvin is Managing Partner of Eden Strategy Institute, an award-winning strategy consulting firm that specializes in social innovation.
Over the past decade, Eden has advised corporations, multilateral organizations, as well as governments co-create sustainable value propositions, develop strategic roadmaps, and assess the impact of their interventions.
Calvin is also Associate Lecturer in Strategy and Organization with the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology.
He has served on the boards of Biofourmis, Conjunct Consulting, Credence Labs, Rotary Club, the World Toilet Organisation, and as President of the Chicago Booth Alumni Club of Singapore. He was inducted into the International Who’s Who of Professionals in 2009 and recognised as a NetImpact Changemaker in 2014.
Calvin actually doesn’t take coffee, but is deeply passionate about social businesses that impact mental and emotional resilience.
